Wal-Mart case gets certified as a class

In a very long awaited decision, it was just announced that Dukes v. Wal-Mart will get class certification. This case involves a number of women, who sued Wal-Mart for sex discrimination in promotions and pay. If certified, it was said that there may be as many as 1.5 million class members.

I wonder whether this case being certified will lead to other cases, or is this just an outlier?

George notes that the most important FAQ about a class action is missing: "what do we anticipate to be the ratio between an individual class member's ridiculously puny recovery and the outrageously excessive amount awarded as attorneys' fees?"
